By Jeanne FoleySuitShop, formerly The Groomsman Suit, is proud to partner with the Good+Foundation, a leading national nonprofit that works to dismantle multi-generational poverty by pairing tangible goods with innovative services for low-income fathers, mothers and caregivers, creating an upward trajectory for the whole family.
As part of this partnership, we are donating $50,000 worth of clothing and accessories, including suits, shirts, shoes and ties to support the foundation's Fatherhood program.
In these uncertain times, many families have lost their sources of income. Through a donation of professional clothing and accessories, SuitShop aims to give fathers the tools they need to confidently get back into the workplace and help provide for their families.
“We see first hand every day what a well-fitted suit can do to transform the way a person feels. It’s truly magical and why we love this business,” says Jeanne Foley, co-founder of SuitShop. “We believe that in order to be profitable, sustainable, and successful it is essential that our business gives back to the communities that support us. It was a natural fit to find a donation partner to share our product with, in a way that would be impactful to so many. Giving back is in our DNA so this is really special for us.”
The program kicks off in Chicago, in partnership with Good+Foundation program partner, Share Our Spare. Share Our Spare is on a mission to ensure every child has the essentials they need to thrive in the first five years of life. They do this by collecting new and gently used baby items from those with “extras” to spare and distributing them to families living in poverty through a sustainable network of volunteers, community stakeholders, and social service agencies. We know that access to services and resources for the whole family helps to create stronger communities, so this donation from SuitShop will go a long way to outfit fathers in the Share Our Spare network as they complete career development programs and go on job interviews.“We’re thrilled to work with The Groomsmen Suit in launching this vital initiative,” says Dr. Alan-Michael Graves, National Program Director, Good+Foundation. “When we support fathers and give them the tools they need to succeed, it helps create greater economic opportunities for the whole family.” To learn more about Good + Foundation, visit them at: https://goodplusfoundation.org/
