Please, start by telling us your engagement story!

David and I are high school sweethearts, we got engaged in July 2019 after 9 years of loving each other and growing together. I came home from work on a Tuesday evening and he asked if I wanted to go for a ride to “our spot”- a big field on a hill at the end of a dirt road with one of the most beautiful views. We used to go there a lot when we were younger and it was the first place we said “I love you”. Neither of us had been there for a few years. We rode his little Honda Grom up the windy dirt road to find the field has since been turned into a big cow field. You can’t see the view without going into the fenced pasture, so we snuck in quietly. David proposed while we were admiring the view and I squealed (yes) so loudly that we caught the attention of the cows and had to rush back out. It was short, sweet, silly and so very us. It was perfect. And the ring was and still is perfect, too.

Can you share with our customers/couples a little bit about the decision to have a destination elopement in Greece?

Both before and after we got engaged, I spent a lot of time looking for wedding inspiration on Pinterest. We agreed on the “vision” that I came up with, but neither of us were really excited about it. Then we talked about a destination wedding- which excited us more but still stressed us out. Then we talked about eloping on a luxury vacation and it just clicked, we could finally envision our perfect wedding day. We’d been together for so long and had already accomplished so much together, just the two of us. We felt that it was only right that we make our wedding what we want it to be--to celebrate us! We knew that meant a destination elopement, and Santorini was the first place from our travel bucket list that came to mind. A small and romantic greek island known for beautiful sunsets, luxury resorts, good wine, and food, and breathtaking backdrops/views- what more could you ask for in an elopement destination? We took that, ran with it, and never looked back. I wouldn’t trade our Santorini elopement for any traditional wedding, ever.

From the time we decided that we were going to elope in Santorini, David had a vision for his outfit. We spent hours shopping in stores with no luck. I suggested that he look online and did some research to make it easy for him. Any advice for brides/grooms to be (especially as it pertains to elopement?

Our advice for brides and grooms to be is: If you are even considering eloping- just do it! Communicate with each other and be honest about what you want. Eloping doesn’t mean you can’t still celebrate with friends and family! You can still have a reception party after the fact. But you only get one wedding day so it’s important to honor what will make the two of you happiest on that day.
