Hotel Ella

A summer wedding in Austin, TX.

About the Shoot

Nestled in the heart of Austin, Texas, Hotel Ella is a striking mansion turned boutique hotel that carries an air of timeless elegance. Once a wedding gift to Ella Newsome and Goodall H. Wooten, the storied building provided the perfect backdrop for a styled shoot inspired by Paris and European charm. Curated by The Groovy Wedding Co., this shoot seamlessly transported all involved from the vibrant streets of Austin to a chic European destination.

A Setting Steeped in History and Elegance

Hotel Ella's stately columns and intricate architecture evoke the grandeur of a bygone era, making it easy to imagine strolling through a European villa rather than the lively capital of Texas. These elements set the stage for a styled shoot that celebrated romance and sophistication with a touch of whimsy.

The Details: Chic Parisian Touches

From the moment guests would step into this dreamy setting, the details spoke of refined elegance. Pink invitations designed by 26 Pressed featured playful stripes, setting the tone for the day. Stripes were a recurring theme, subtly woven throughout the shoot, including the bride's stunning white-and-black striped Manolo Blahnik heels. Even the striped umbrellas surrounding the hotel's courtyard pool echoed the motif, tying everything together.

A Romantic Getting Ready Moment

The couple began the day together, getting ready in one of Hotel Ella’s luxurious guest suites. With a balcony overlooking the serene courtyard pool, it was the perfect space to set the mood for the day. The groom looked effortlessly sharp in a classic monochromatic ensemble, pairing a tailored black suit with a skinny black tie. Meanwhile, the bride exuded timeless glamour in a strapless gown complemented by a delicate scarf that draped elegantly around her neck and flowed down her back.

An Intimate Veranda Reception

The veranda at Hotel Ella served as the location for an intimate reception dinner that embodied Parisian elegance. A rich pink tablecloth formed the foundation for the tablescape, adorned with lush pink floral arrangements created by The Honeymoon House. Light pink candlesticks cast a soft glow, enhancing the romantic atmosphere. The custom white and pink signage, along with the minimalist candles, added to the cohesive aesthetic.

Sweet Endings and Everlasting Love

The centerpiece of the celebration was a heart-shaped wedding cake by Sugar Mama's Bakeshop. Decorated with soft pink icing, cherries, and the words “Happily Ever After” scrawled across the top, the cake was as delightful as it was sentimental. This playful yet elegant detail perfectly captured the shoot’s theme of enduring love and Parisian whimsy.

Timeless Inspiration

This styled shoot at Hotel Ella was a masterclass in blending history with modern romance. From the European-inspired columns to the thoughtfully curated details, every element paid homage to a couple’s love story and the mansion’s legacy. Whether you're dreaming of an intimate wedding or simply love Parisian flair, this shoot offers inspiration for creating a day that feels like stepping into another world—without ever leaving.
