Jordan & Christina
A winter wedding in Houston, TX.
About the Wedding
Jordan and Christina’s wedding day was nothing short of unforgettable—and for all the right reasons. While the rainstorm that rolled in might’ve derailed many couples’ plans, it only added to the charm and magic of their celebration, making it one of the most unique and heartwarming weddings we’ve ever seen.
A First Look with a Furry Friend
The couple shared an intimate first look with their dog, creating a sweet moment before the chaos of the day began. Christina, looking radiant in her lace gown, paired it with a delicate beaded hair clip that gave her look a touch of vintage elegance. Jordan, ever dashing, sported a dark green three-piece suit, the bold color standing out beautifully against the rain-soaked backdrop. His patterned tie, a harmonious contrast, complemented the look perfectly.
Embracing the Rain
The ceremony was meant to be outdoors, and despite the relentless downpour, Jordan and Christina, along with their wedding party, stood firm, soaking up every moment. “Our wedding day was amazing,” Jordan recalled. “Unfortunately, the weather had other plans, and it completely poured rain the entire time. To say it was a day we’ll never forget is an understatement, but everyone embraced the madness and had an amazing time!”
Guests, armed with umbrellas, witnessed the vows from their seats as the couple exchanged promises under a canopy of rain. The bridesmaids were effortlessly stunning in mismatched green dresses that ranged from sea green to moss, while the groomsmen, all in white dress shirts and tan trousers, wore matching greenery-patterned ties, paying homage to the natural beauty surrounding them. And yes, everyone braved the rain—the wedding party even walking barefoot, muddy but happy, during photos.
Tiny Details, Big Impact
The wedding flowers were simple yet striking. Christina’s all-white bouquet was classic and elegant, while the bridesmaids’ bouquets were a stunning mix of white, dusty blue and peach, bringing just the right amount of color to an otherwise serene palette. In the reception area, the cake was a showstopper, resting atop a wooden platform and adorned with lush peach and pink roses and vibrant purple wildflowers—perfectly mirroring the organic vibe.
There was no shortage of meaningful personal touches. Cocktail napkins featured screenshots of text messages exchanged between the couple, capturing the sweet evolution of their relationship, from the time they first reconnected (after originally meeting in 7th grade!) to when they began dating seven years later. Christina also transitioned into a chic, high-neck white lace dress and white Nikes after the ceremony, because, let’s face it, who wants to wear heels in the rain? The real fun, though, came when Jordan and Christina, fully embracing the wet weather, made a grand entrance into the pool at the end of the night. What started as a spontaneous plunge quickly turned into a group activity, with wedding guests and members of the bridal party joining in.
Roots, Rings, and New Beginnings
The couple carved their initials into a tree at the ceremony site, a gesture to symbolize the roots they were planting together in marriage. After the reception, as the evening came to a close, the couple drove off in their getaway car, their pup nestled comfortably in the back seat, completing the picture-perfect end to a wedding day that was far from ordinary.
As a final chapter to the day, Jordan and Christina scheduled a second photo shoot with their photographer to capture some stunning moments in their wedding attire—this time, with a blue sky and sunshine in the mix. Through rain, mud, and bare feet, they proved that love doesn’t have to be perfect to be absolutely magical.
