Kurian & Lauren

A fall wedding in Denver, CO.

About the Wedding

Please, start by telling us your engagement story!

Prior to our engagement, we had been together for almost five years, navigating long distance for a few of those years. Between the both of us, we had lived in five states while dating! Once we both landed in Denver, we knew it was time to take the next step. For our engagement, we travelled to Los Angeles (a couple weeks prior to the COVID outbreak) where we first met. Lauren almost saw the ring by mistake while putting hand sanitizer in Kurian's backpack! Kurian proposed in the rose garden at Pasadena City Hall, where he first said "I love you" to Lauren. He made sure he proposed at the same bench where it happened, and surprised her with some of her closest friends and a photographer who was there to capture the moment.

What made you choose your venue and theme?

We wanted a unique and fun experience for our guests, especially during the unfortunate times we are in with COVID. We chose the History Colorado Center in downtown Denver, and our reception took place in the atrium, which features a classic "Colorful Colorado" road sign -- perfect for our vibrant color scheme. The staff went above and beyond for us! Due to limited attendance we could have at the church, we decided to livestream the ceremony. The staff allowed us to reserve an additional room in the museum during the ceremony, so guests who could not be at the church could see it on a big screen, making for an awesome watch party experience! While the bridal party was taking pictures and heading to the venue, our guests were able to explore the museum and learn about Colorado (a bonus, as most people were from out of state). The staff even put together a scavenger hunt to make the experience even more fun (it was a hit with the kids).

We'd love to know more about your experience working with SuitShop!

SuitShop has been amazing to us! I wanted for me and my groomsmen to wear light blue suits, and they had exactly what I was looking for. We had the unique experience of meeting Diana and trying out suits at their WeWork site in Denver (before they opened up their store). They were able to connect with my groomsmen, and make sure they ordered the correct items. Shipping was so efficient! My experience has been amazing, and the staff is remarkable. Due to this positive experience, my brother is using SuitShop for his upcoming wedding in January!

Any advice for brides/grooms to be?

We discovered that even in the midst of a pandemic, with enough patience and perseverance, everything came together the way it was meant to be. If you find vendors you trust and enjoy working with, it makes the process much smoother. Be sure to interview at least a couple vendors for each service you need, and go with the person who clicks with your personalities. Be patient with each other, and don't lose sight of why you're getting married in the first place!
