Kelci & Katherine

A spring wedding in Grand Junction, CO.

About the Shoot

Kelci and Katherine's styled-shoot-turned-REAL-proposal was beautifully captured by SuitShop Insider Vanessa of The Outlovers. Here's what she has to say about this creative shoot:

About the couple:

Kelci and Katherine are the definition of GOOD people: down to earth, kind and warm, and supportive of everyone around them. And the love that they share is truly something special. They bring out the absolute best in each other and constantly push themselves to grow so they can enjoy everything that this beautiful life together has to offer.

About the shoot:

There were three main goals that served as the focus for this styled shoot: 1) showcase the amazing love that Kelci and Katherine share, 2) show off the landscape of Western Colorado as an incredible elopement destination, and 3) share the work of some of our super talented wedding vendors in this area.

Kelci and Katherine are at their happiest in the great outdoors and thrive on their sense of adventure, so it only made sense to plan a full-day, multi-location, Jeep off-roading elopement-themed photoshoot for them.

We incorporated so many of their favorite activities: getting up to catch the sunrise, hiking around, enjoying good food with a good view, camping in the middle of nowhere, and cooking s’mores 'round the fire.

Let this be a reminder that your wedding day doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s and can be whatever the heck you want it to be!

About the elopement outfits:

Katherine knew without a doubt that she did NOT want to wear a wedding dress for this shoot, but she DID want something with a little bit of character. As soon as we came across SuitShop, with its beautiful array of color options, we knew we’d hit the jackpot! Better still? Having the option to mix and match the pant and jacket sizes, as well as choose the pant length, made the whole process so easy. The suit arrived and fit perfectly. Katherine spiced up her punchy Dark Green women's suit look with a sweet boutonniere and a funky bolo tie, and–we think you’ll agree–she looked fire!

Kelci rocked a lacy wedding gown. Blush tones in the wedding dress added interest, but the cool bridal style didn't stop there. She also layered on a custom leather jacket with a sentimental, hand-painted quote on the back, which added some fun edge to an otherwise soft and sweet look. Coupled with Katherine's green suit, Kelci's lace-and-leather bridal look brought an adventurous wedding style to our shoot.

The best part of the day:

This styled shoot was designed as a mock elopement, if you will. But, at the end of it all, Katherine surprised Kelci with a REAL proposal! These two are now officially engaged and planning their wedding for this summer. And you bet Katherine will be looking to SuitShop to get her bridal suit in order for the real wedding planning.

Having the option to mix and match the pant and jacket sizes, as well as choose the pant length, made the whole process so easy. The suit arrived and fit perfectly.
