Mallory & Darin
A fall wedding in New Virginia, IA.
About the Wedding
Mallory and Darin’s wedding day was set against the picturesque backdrop of Harpors Vineyard in Clarke County, Iowa on a sunny Sunday before Labor Day.
A Stylish and Timeless Wedding Party
The bridal party looked effortlessly chic. The groomsmen were dressed to the nines in classic black peak lapel tuxedos from SuitShop, a sleek silhouette that exuded sophistication. The groom, Darin, stood out as the only one wearing a boutonniere—a small yet meaningful distinction.
On the other side of the aisle, the bridesmaids were the picture of grace in taupe bridesmaid dresses, a perfect complement to the soft and romantic color palette of the day. The soft taupe hue perfectly harmonized with the cream and dusty pink roses in the bridal bouquets.
An Outdoor Ceremony
The vineyard's lush landscape provided a serene and romantic backdrop for Mallory and Darin’s exchange of vows. Under a pergola adorned with more cream and dusty pink roses, the couple said their "I dos," surrounded by loved ones and the beautiful rolling hills of Iowa.
One of the most special moments of the ceremony was when Mallory and Darin took part in a symbolic "unity ceremony." Rather than the traditional candle lighting or sand pouring, the couple chose a more unique and meaningful gesture—pouring water from two separate vases into a new plant, sitting atop a wine barrel. This simple act symbolized their commitment to nurturing and growing their love, much like they would tend to a living plant. It was a heartfelt metaphor for the new life they were beginning together, full of promise, growth, and care.
A Toast to New Beginnings
Following the ceremony, the celebration continued with a champagne-filled cocktail hour. Guests were welcomed with a stunning wall of champagne flutes—an elegant and playful touch that set the tone for the rest of the evening. It was a whimsical yet sophisticated detail, inviting everyone to raise a glass in honor of the newlyweds.
For Mallory and Darin, the day wasn’t just about the two of them—it was about sharing their love and joy with their family. That’s why they made sure to bring their two beloved dogs to the venue for photos, capturing some adorable moments with their furry companions amidst the gorgeous vineyard setting.
At the end of the night, guests were sent home with gift bags filled with popcorn, each tagged with a cute and clever note that read, "Thanks for poppin' by to celebrate with us."
This wedding's color palette, with classic black, creamy white, dusty pink, and taupe, created a elegant and timeless look, from the bridesmaids' dresses to the lush arrangements of roses that framed the ceremony space.
